Retro Italian Trabucco Bracelet in 18ct Yellow Gold
Description
A charming 18ct yellow gold articulated bracelet from the Retro period by the Italian designer, Trabucco. With platinum reserved for wartime use, jewellery embraced the warm tones of yellow and rose gold. Expertly modelled in a fun and friendly caricature of a much loved Bracco Italiano. The gently shaped head section is full of character, with a piercing eye and large bulbous nose. Renowned for their large playful ears, one has been independently articulated and will move with the wearer. The body is formed from eleven shaped panels, which have been connected together with small rings to ensure superb articulation. The shaped tail section continues the expert caricature portrayal and, when fastened around the wrist, comically alludes to the dog chasing its own tail. The Bracco Italiano breed is iconic and renowned for their friendly nature. This unusual bracelet would have originally been created in the 1950s to provide some much needed post-war amusement. Trabucco is synonymous with Retro Italian style. Designs were varied and striking, from geometric and modern, to romantic interpretations of Victorian era styles. Its bold and elaborate style makes it highly coveted and collectable.
