Masterpiece Muzo Emerald Collar
Reworking a statement vintage Emerald.
Source & Origin
‘Muzo’ is a word that is inextricably linked to the world’s finest, most sought-after emeralds and has been for hundreds of years. The Muzo region in the high Andes mountains of Colombia, was home to a tribe of warriors who became known as the ‘emerald people’ thanks to their ability to extract the vibrant green stones that populated their land.
Nestled beneath the verdant rainforests that cover the country, these mines are famous for producing high quality stones that have a uniquely intense green colour.
Design
Drawing inspiration from 1920s New York and the Art Deco era, the Muzo Masterpiece Collar showcases the monochromatic contrast between white diamonds and black onyx. This statement piece features a magnificent emerald, expertly reset from an antique jewel, likely originating from the renowned old Muzo mine.
Craftsmanship
Exhibiting an 18.99ct octagonal cut Colombian emerald, each intricately crafted platinum link showcases a display of brilliant (18.44cts) and carré cut (16.40cts) diamonds, elegantly separated by slim onyx spacers.
With this Masterpiece, our craftsmen paid meticulous attention to how the necklace sits, incorporating hidden joints that move in multiple directions for a silky flow. Additionally, the carré cut diamonds at the end of each link highlight an exceptional level of detail.
