Out-of-this-world Coloured Diamond
There is only one gemstone that can rival the beauty and brilliance of the sun, and that is a diamond. Three very special colour diamonds just landed in our Celestial collection.
Design & Inspiration
The Celestial setting pays homage to the sun, with a loop of melee diamonds recreating the sun’s corona, the glowing flares that remain visible even during a solar eclipse. The design is symbolic of the energy and generosity of the sun, as well as its powers of renewal and resilience. It is a reminder of the majesty of the cosmos, as well as our own inner strength, designed to be carried with us every day.
Craftsmanship
What makes these rings unique is the coloured
diamond they carry: each is set with a rare colour
diamond - one green, one pink and a yellow. These
coveted gemstones have been cut into pear
shapes to release their inner fire and brilliance.
Surrounding these unique stones are coronas of
micro-set diamonds of the same colour. Sourcing
small green, yellow and pink diamonds is
incredibly difficult, making the composition of
these Masterpiece rings all the more special.

The chromatic pairings continue with the gold used to make the rings, all of which are produced by Pragnell’s own craftspeople at our workshop. The yellow diamonds are set in yellow gold, and the pink diamonds in rose gold. The green diamonds, the rarest of the three shades, sit in green gold that is achieved by creating a special alloy, the recipe of which is a closely guarded secret, meaning the colour will last forever.
Coloured diamonds are a happy
accident of nature.
Yellow diamonds occurred due to the presence
of nitrogen at the moment of their inception,
deep within the earth’s mantle millions of years
ago, while green diamonds are the result of
exposure to natural radiation.
Pink diamonds contain no additional trace
element to influence their colour, and instead
the sought-after hue is thanks to an irregularity
in the structure of the diamond crystal.
