Blancpain are the world’s oldest watch brand, dating back to 1735. With almost two centuries of watchmaking innovation and tradition behind them, it’s clear to see why they are such a renowned brand. They were also the first leading watch company with a female CEO; in 1932, seventh-generation family member Frédéric-Emile died, leaving the company to his long-term assistant, Betty Fiechter.

Blancpain’s passion for the marine world is embodied in their Fifty Fathoms collection. Introduced for the first time in 1953 with the creation of the first modern diver’s watch, they are renowned for their efficiency in and out of water. The latest additions to the Fifty Fathoms models bear the principal distinctive characteristics that forged the reputation of their legendary ancestor and established it as the archetypal diver’s watch. On the 60th anniversary of the Fifty Fathoms dive watch, they released the new Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe, a tribute to one of the best known watches. A bathyscaphe is a self-propelled vehicle used for deep-sea dives. Bathyscaphes can dive deeper than a person with scuba gear, and even deeper than submarines. The design features reveal that the bathyscaphe was engineered with one goal in mind: to reach the deepest depths of the ocean.
