A Kashmir Sapphire Ring

From Mine to Masterpiece: the origins of the legendary Kashmir sapphire are a tale of chance and commerce from the rugged Himalayan region. A combination of extreme rarity combined with other wordly attributes make a true Kashmir one of the most sought-after rare jewels.

Kashmir's Finest

Experts regard Kashmir sapphires as amongst the finest blue sapphires on earth.

These gemstones originating from Northern India were discovered in 1882 and mined extensively till 1889, when the mines were exhausted. As a result, there is a dwindling number in circulation globally making them incredibly precious.

They are revered for their exquisite blue colour with violet undertones. Many Kashmir stones possess needle-like inclusions known as ‘silk’ which results in them enjoying a soft dream-like glow and rich cornflower blue hue. They are often referred to as looking like ‘blue velvet’.

Mine to Masterpiece

We recently acquired an exceptional untreated 8.00ct antique cushion-cut Kashmir sapphire.

Originally set in an outdated brooch, this gemstone was in excellent condition and required no work prior to remounting.

After careful consideration, our workshops settled on an 18ct white gold ring, accented with yellow gold claws to showcase this exceptional stone to its full potential.

Designed to Dazzle
