Cleopatra
Inspired by the allure of Ancient Egypt and its legendary last pharaoh, Queen Cleopatra. Our collection embodies a modern interpretation of the iconic ‘Sha’bi’ pattern.
Egyptian Allure
In 2023, during a visit to Egypt to preview the extraordinary Grand Egyptian Museum, Charlie Pragnell couldn't help but be captivated by the central role jewellery played in this country's rich history and the skill of craftsmen during ancient times. Symbolism, tradition and storytelling were important within Ancient society, all of which were reflected in their beautiful jewellery designs.
Jewellery was, and remains a fundamental part of Egyptian culture, with few styles signifying this more than the gold chain. From Pharaohs to merchants, gold chains were worn throughout society, symbolising one's station and origins.
‘Sha’bi’ Style
Master of intricate gold craft, the barrel-shaped bead or ‘Sha’bi’ pattern designs used in this collection were found in the three-thousand-year-old tomb of the Eighteenth Dynasty pharaoh, Tutankhamun.
Designed with stacking and layering in mind, our craftsmen experimented with various gauges, textures, weights and stone settings until landing on a timeless concept - a design to be worn every day.
