Description
Elegantly crafted in silver with a ring handle and tapered stem. Originally designed as a skewer, this piece may also be used as a letter opener.
Hester Bateman first registered her sponsor's mark in London in 1761. She successfully ran her family business for thirty years. Her children continued her efforts and the business lasted up until the mid 19th century. She is considered one of the finest English silversmiths.
