Emerald Cut, Claw Set
Description
A rare matching pair of vibrant blue Sri-Lankan sapphires (13.37cts) form the drop sections of our striking Masterpiece earrings. Secured by hand shaped talon claws these superb sapphires have been expertly showcased by sparkling kite and angled cushion shaped diamonds. Designed by a member of the Pragnell family the strong forms and geometric lines of the famed Art Deco period (1911-1940) were hugely influential in creating this statement design. As a sixth-generation family jeweller Pragnell travel the world to source the very finest coloured gemstones to enhance our carefully curated selection of fine jewels. Sri Lanka (Ceylon) is known as "The Gem Island” and is famous for producing a wide variety of exceptional quality stones. Many of the most famous sapphires in the world have come from Sri Lanka, with the characteristic vivid, lighter and brighter blue colour of these stones being highly regarded. Each of the sapphires set into these earrings are accompanied by certification from the AGL (American Gemological Laboratories to confirm that they have not been subjected to any heat treatment to enhance their colour and clarity. The kite shaped diamonds also have GIA certification confirming sought after G colour and VSI clarity grades.
