Masterpiece 9.17ct Sri Lankan Royal Blue Sapphire and Diamond Ring in 18ct White Gold
Oval, Pear & Heart Cut, Claw Set
Description
A magnificent 18ct white gold oval cut royal blue Sri Lankan sapphire ring from our Masterpiece Collection. Few gemstones have the impact of bright blue sapphires, which come alive in the light and almost glow with electric tones of cool blue. A sought after 9.17ct oval cut example is showcased here, which has been perfectly accentuated by a surrounding halo of sparkling oval, pear and heart cut diamonds (4.14cts). These have been expertly angled to ensure that all eyes focus onto the majestic centrepiece, which is further highlighted by brilliant cut diamond set shoulders. As a sixth-generation family jeweller Pragnell travel the world to source the very finest coloured gemstones to enhance our carefully curated selection of fine jewels. Sri Lanka (Ceylon) is known as "The Gem Island", and is famous for producing a wide variety of exceptional quality stones. Many of the most famous sapphires in the world have come from Sri Lanka, with the characteristic vivid, lighter and brighter blue colour of these stones being highly regarded. The example set into this ring is accompanied by certification from the GemResearch Swisslab to confirm that it has been subjected to heat treatment to enhance its colour and clarity. The Duchess of Cambridge wears a 12ct oval cut Sri Lankan sapphire engagement ring that was presented to her by Prince William on their engagement in 2010. This ring was made by Garrard, and previously belonged to Diana Princess of Wales who was presented with it by the Prince of Wales on their engagement in 1981. All Pragnell Masterpiece creations are unique expressions of our rich history of being part of the most special moments in our clients' lives. Handcrafted in our workshops in the heart of England they showcase exceptional artistry, craft and gemstones.
