Description
An 18ct yellow gold belcher link chain necklace (40cm) from the late Edwardian period. A central Albert clasp ensures a favourite pendant or charm can be effortlessly attached. Long, short and choker-style chain necklaces were incredibly popular during the Edwardian period (1901-1910), which only lasted for nine years (1901-1910), but was an incredibly important era for jewellery design. Hugely intricate pieces, showcasing the very best diamonds and gemstones, were worn with elaborate fashions from the most famous French couture houses. Driven by the explosion of court life steered by King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, this was a truly special time.
