Victorian Natural Pearl Earrings 3.80ct in 18ct Rose Gold
Natural Pearl Earrings, with Diamond Surrounds
Description
A beautiful pair of 18ct rose gold natural pearl and diamond cluster pendant earrings from the Victorian period. Two 6mm round natural pearls have been securely set into rose gold and surrounded by a rich halo of claw set old cut diamonds (3.80ct). Suspended from diamond set bar sections, these will move freely with the wearer. Pearls and diamonds were often combined together in the Victorian period, and symbolised wisdom and purity. The adored diamond sparkle also brings the lustre of the best pearls to life perfectly. Practical and stylish today, the rose gold settings subtly warm the diamonds and complement the lustre of the pearls. A popular style in the period, and which worked well with both long and short hair styles; stud examples feature in the collection of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and were frequently worn during the 1950s. An open work coronet style setting allows light to enter each diamond, whilst adding a decorative flourish to these charming earrings.
Victorians loved anything bestowed with meaning and this was particularly true for jewellery.
