Description
A classic sapphire and diamond three stone ring from the Victorian period. Featuring three cushion cut sapphires (1.69cts), and four small sparkling old European cut diamonds (0.10ct). An openwork claw style gallery completes this classic 19th-century design. Three-stone rings are known to represent the past, present and future of a relationship. They became increasingly popular in the Victorian period when it became fashionable to wear multiple rings on each hand. This was influenced by Queen Victoria and her royal relatives, who dictated styles and tastes to the Empire at large. Victorians loved anything bestowed with meaning and this was particularly true for jewellery. The 'Romantic' period of this era represented a time of marital bliss for Queen Victoria. A ring to wear and enjoy today this piece combines the birthstone for the months of April and September.
