A vibrant 4.68ct cushion cut mint green tourmaline radiates summer green tones secured by four expertly hand shaped talon claws at the centre of this ring. Reminding us of the magical aurora borealis this eye-catching stone has been set on top of a striking oval shield shaped surround that has been completely snow set with sparkling brilliants (1.85ct) in a variety of different sizes. Hand crafted out of 18ct gold a black enamelled finish has been applied to highlight this true marvel of gem setting skill. Snow setting is a relatively recent introduction to Pragnell with this intricate technique being found on the high jewellery wristwatch creations from both Patek Philippe and Jaeger-LeCoultre. Creating a truly mesmerising spectacle sparkling brilliants of different sizes are individually positioned by the skilled gem setter to ensure as little metal as possible remains visible between the stones. Once completed the surface resembles a fierce snow storm with perfect flakes of different sizes filling the air.
