Description
An impressive Victorian ornate footed sterling silver and cranberry glass presentation bowl centrepiece. Designed a trio of naturalistic fruiting grape vines with figures of a lizard and a bee atop an intricate baroque base. Three cartouche panels displaying the original presentation inscription, escutcheon and monogram of Thomas Carew Hunt Esq (in remembrance of his devoted service as Consul in Bordeaux). Crafted out of sterling silver this eye-catching piece was made by John Hunt for the famous firm of Hunt and Roskell (originally founded in 1843). Fully hallmarked for London (1862).
