Description
Of vase shape, which was typical of the period, with a pedestal foot and pierced cover, finished with a knop finial and stepped foot.
Pantin was from a family of Huguenots and silversmiths based in Rouen. He was apprenticed to his father, who came to London in the 17th century after the revocation of the edict of Nantes, when Protestants had to flee France.
