Description
First seen in the 1930s and inspired by the clean lines of the Bauhaus movement, the Calatrava family is much beloved by watch connoisseurs as showcasing the most classic and elegant dress watches. Entering their 182nd year in 2021, Patek Philippe have given a fresh momentum to this classic family with the launch of the 6119G-001. A charcoal grey vertical satin finished dial catches the light perfectly, and will come alive when worn on the wrist. Hand polished, sparkling, faceted white gold hour markers perfectly complement this stunning dial, giving a distinctly fresh look. A sub dial at 6:00 displays the seconds, with the hours and minutes being tracked by statement dauphine style hands. A 39mm hand polished white gold case offers an elegant presence on the wrist, with an eye-catching bezel that glimmers with a double row guilloched hobnail pattern, known as Clous de Paris. This traditional finish requires great skill and expertise to achieve, and has become synonymous with the family since it was first seen in Calatrava models released in the 1980s. The 6119G-001 houses a new manual winding movement (calibre 30-255 PS), which has an incredibly useful minimum 65-hour power reserve. A shiny black alligator strap completes the design, ensuring that this piece can be worn and enjoyed from day to night.
A true classic that has been reinterpreted in a contemporary spirit, the 6119G-001 is perfect to be worn now, and looked after for the next generation.
