Adriana Brownlee
Record-breaking achievement: She is the youngest woman to climb all 14 peaks exceeding 8000 meters at age 23, a feat accomplished by fewer than 100 individuals. Her journey showcases a unique pioneering spirit and dedication to her passion. Adriana reached her 14th peak, Shishapangma in Tibet, on October 9th, 2024.
Where it Began
Friend of Pragnell, Adriana, began climbing when she was 8 years old. Her passion was inspired by her father, upon his return from expeditions in South America. Mount Everest was the first 8000m peak she summited, at just 20 years old. Since then, she explained she has ‘learnt to appreciate and respect the mountains more as they are definitely much more powerful than we are’.
The Peak of Craft
Dedication to craft is a shared value of both Pragnell and Adriana. When asked what craftsmanship is to her, Adriana answered: ‘Craftsmanship means possessing a skill within a certain craft that you specialise in, whilst showing high quality at the same time. For me in mountaineering, it’s incredibly important to show quality in what you do for me this can mean climbing without O2 on the mountain, in a more purist style.’
Shared Roots
Like Pragnell, Adriana is ‘definitely proud to be British’. She thanks her British background for her wonderful education, ethics, deep history and roots - as well as a sense of humour!
Future Direction
Adriana’s future direction is to inspire other young people around the world to pursue their ultimate dreams and goals in life- no matter how unique or unconventional.
Summit in Style
Adriana loves small but statement pieces in gold. She always wears a small pendant with an angel inside, her protector on the mountains. On her recent summit of Shishapangma, she was accompanied by some classic Pragnell pieces.
