Description
A superb diamond line bracelet, which will come alive when worn on the wrist, showcasing a stunning 31.06cts of sparkling Asscher cut diamonds. Crafted from richly polished 18ct white gold, each stone is secured by four hand-shaped corner claws. Each of the carefully selected thirty-one diamonds are also accompanied by certification from the GIA (Gemological Institute of America), confirming H-I colour and VS-SI clarity grades. First seen in the early 20th century, the larger and wider-set facets of the Asscher cut gained huge popularity due to their eye-catching scintillation. The late Hollywood icon Dame Elizabeth Taylor (1932-2011) had a lifelong passion for jewellery and was presented with a 33.19ct Asscher cut diamond ring by her husband, the actor Richard Burton, in 1968. Originally belonging to the German actress Vera Krupp, this now legendary diamond (renamed the Elizabeth Taylor diamond) was worn frequently for the next forty-three years and sold for over eight million dollars at the auction of her impressive jewellery collection in 2011. This beautiful piece is classed as a tennis bracelet, in reference to the American world no. 01 tennis player, Chris Evert, who often wore an elegant diamond line bracelet during her playing career in the 1970s & 1980s.
