Description
An evocative platinum, diamond and oval cut Burmese ruby ring from our Masterpiece Collection. A vibrant and sought after 4.138ct oval cut Burmese ruby takes centre stage secured by four expertly hand shaped yellow gold talon claws. This breath-taking stone has been surrounded by a halo of geometric carre cut diamonds (2.03cts). The strong lines of these cuts contrast superbly against the soft curves of the central ruby. A second tactile outer halo of small sparkling brilliants (0.28ct) adds life and fire to the design, which has been completed by further geometric cuts set into the top sections of each shoulder. The design has been influenced by the strong forms and geometric lines of the Art Deco period. Designed by a member of the Pragnell family this was inspired by our extensive collection of antique and period rings. This modern interpretation highlights the popularity of antique designs which has increased significantly over the past few years. Burma or Myanmar is a country that is renowned for its deposits of extraordinary gemstones. Deep red rubies are particularly sought after with the important oval cut example here being accompanied by certification (SSEF) to confirm that it has not been subjected to any heat treatment to improve its colour and clarity. All Pragnell Masterpiece creations are unique expressions of our rich history of being part of the most special moments in our clients' lives. Handcrafted in our workshops in the heart of England they offer the superb quality of the Pragnell Seal, and showcase exceptional artistry, craftsmanship and gemstones.
