A beautiful cushion cut Madagascan blue sapphire commands attention as the centrepiece of this stunning ring. The vibrant fine blue sapphire (3.06ct) captivates the eye securely claw set into richly polished 18ct yellow gold. Sparkling smaller cushion cut diamonds (1.00cts) have been expertly hand selected to sit either side of the central sapphire; discreetly drawing the eye towards the impressive centrepiece with their delicate sparkle. The island country of Madagascar is surrounded by the warm waters of the Indian Ocean and is home to a striking array of flora and fauna. Large sapphire deposits were discovered on the island in the 1990s, and have since become renowned for their exceptional quality, vibrancy, and size. The example featured here reminds us of the ocean viewed on a beautiful summer's day and is the result of trace elements of iron and titanium. This gemstone is accompanied by certification from the AGL (American Gemological Laboratories) to confirm that it has not been subjected to any heat treatment to enhance its colour. Both diamonds are also certified by the GIA (Gemmological Institute of America) to confirm colourless (F) and VS1-VS2 clarity grades.
