Edwardian Rose Cut Diamond Fox Mask Pendant in 18ct White Gold
Rose Cut, Grain Set
Description
A detailed fox head sparkles as the centrepiece of this immensely wearable pendant. Originally an elegant stick pin from the Edwardian period this was designed to take pride of place in the lapel of a jacket. Crafted out of 18ct white gold the sly fox has been set with delicately sparkling rose cut diamonds with two rubies being used to define the watchful eyes. Fox hunting can be traced back to the early 16th century and was a hugely important pastime for wealthy and noble landowners in the 19th and 20th centuries. The season ran from October to May, and hunts took place on nearly all the major country estates. Hunting parties have also long been associated with royalty with the future King Edward VII hosting many at his Sandringham estate in Norfolk. Expertly converted in the Pragnell workshops into a stylish pendant this has been paired with a simple 9ct yellow gold 46cm chain.
