Description
A creamy natural saltwater pearl (7.0mm) entrances as the centrepiece of this stunning ring from the Edwardian period. Surrounded by the inimitable sparkle of ten old European cut diamonds the lustre of the pearl is beautifully enhanced. The gallery showcases a striking zig zag and dot pattern, which blends perfectly with the broad tapering shoulders that feature small diamonds set into a pierced chevron pattern openwork design. The piece is completed by engraved scroll work patterns that catch the eye on the bottom half of the shank. The rare and sought after natural pearl set into this ring is accompanied by certification from the Gemmological Certification Services to confirm its natural saltwater origin. The Edwardian period only lasted for nine years (1901-1910), but it was an incredibly important era for jewellery design. Hugely intricate pieces showcasing the very best diamonds and coloured gemstones were worn with elaborate fashions from the most famous French couture houses. Driven by the explosion of court life, steered by the fashion-conscious King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, this was a truly special time. A truly delicate and feminine jewel that will look stunning worn to celebrate a summer wedding when the warm sun will illuminate the lustrous pearls and cause the diamonds to subtly sparkle.
