Description

A detailed parrot head sparkles as the centrepiece of this immensely wearable pendant. Originally an elegant stick pin from the Edwardian period this was designed to take pride of place in the lapel of a jacket. Crafted out of 18ct white gold the exotic bird has been set with delicately sparkling old cut diamonds with a sea blue cabochon cut sapphire used to define the watchful eye. Parrots were popular pets during this period amongst the nobility and wealthy upper classes. The Princess of Wales (later Queen Alexandra) even had an Australian parrot named in her honour (the princess parrot). Expertly converted in the Pragnell workshops into a stylish pendant this has been paired with a simple 18ct yellow gold 46cm chain.
