Description
A whimsical pearl and diamond white rabbit brooch from the Edwardian period. A white baroque pearl forms the body of this inquisitive creature, with an overcoat depicted in enamel, complete with watch fob chain. The head and feet are set with old cut diamonds and the piece is finished with two glowing ruby eyes. This delightful brooch exemplifies the wonderful craftsmanship and design of the era, and displays a range of complex jewellery skills. Perfectly poised with his pocket watch, this rare and collectable brooch is evocative of the White Rabbit character from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, written by Lewis Carroll in 1865.
