Description
A statement ring featuring a natural lustrous white button shaped pearl from the Belle Époque period. The creamy white tones of this beautiful pearl are complemented by four blackened silver scrollwork “C” shaped motifs that form a quatrefoil shape. These are each defined by four old cut diamonds which add a subtle sparkle to this impressive ring. The Belle Époque or Beautiful Era (1871-1914) produced some incredibly interesting pieces, as it encompassed the Art Nouveau, Arts and Crafts, and Edwardian periods. The quatrefoil is an iconic shape, with a rich history having appeared in art and architecture for thousands of years. The scrolling “C” shaped motifs also remind us of elaborate strapwork decoration that originated in the 15th century. A slim rose gold band completes the design, offering an eye-catching contrast. Natural pearls are an incredibly rare and sought after gemstone, with most being plucked from the depths of the dangerous Persian Gulf by only the bravest of divers. In the 19th century, the largest and most lustrous examples were worth far more than diamonds. Check Specifications for ring size details.
