Oval Cut, Millegrain Set
Description
An eye-catching drop pendant from the Belle Epoque period. Expertly crafted out of silver and gold this pendant displays the essence of the beautiful era with swags, foliate motifs and garlands. Designed for maximum impact when worn with the elaborate fashions of the day small old cut diamonds have been combined with striking orange/yellow flower heads. Depicted in full bloom each has been set with a vibrant green garnet as a striking centrepiece. A statement oval cut orange/yellow topaz gemstone (2.06ct) has been suspended as the central element with sections of the jewel beautifully articulated to ensure it will move effortlessly with the wearer. A lush spring green enamelled leaf section completes the design with a small lustrous pearl (5-5.5mm) suspended from it. Immensely wearable today this piece showcases delicate enamel work, which was perfectly suited to the elaborate designs favoured during this period. Suspended from a fine 22cm chain this pendant is perfect for a special occasion with topaz being recognised as a birthstone for the month of November. Showcasing the swan and shell hallmarks (indicating the combination of silver and gold) this is a collectible piece of French jewellery history.
