Belle Epoque Diamond Drop Earrings 2.80ct in Platinum and Yellow Gold
Old Cut, Six Claw set
Description
A fine pair of French Belle Epoque diamond drop earrings in platinum, 18ct and 14ct gold. The two principle transitional-cut diamonds each weighing 2.80ct have been securely 6 claw-set within a hexagonal old-cut diamond platinum millegrain-set border. These have been suspended from elongated platinum open-work drop sections that have been millegrain and collet set with old & rose-cut diamonds. Eye catching drop style earrings set with impressive diamonds and gemstones were incredibly popular during this period. An instant signifier of wealth and status these earrings would delicately move with the wearer, and dazzle with life and fire. Jewellery was worn to excess during this period with chokers, sautoirs, bracelets, rings and head ornaments contributing to a marvellous spectacle.
