Supremely comfortable when worn on the wrist the sprung elements ensure this piece can be worn and enjoyed from day to night. The Art Deco period (1911-1940) was hugely important for jewellery and the wider decorative arts. Bracelets were particularly important as fashions exposed the wrists and arms with glamourous evening entertainments becoming more and more popular. The engraver and designer Rene Boivin founded the firm bearing his name in Paris during the 1890s. This period was hugely important for jewellery design, and the Boivin name quickly gained a reputation for high quality unconventional pieces that showcased sculptural naturalism. On Boivin’s death in 1917 Madame Rene Boivin took control of the firm, and recruited a number of female designers including Juliette Moutard and Suzanne Belperron. Boivin pieces are known for having their own distinct identity, reflecting the personality of the wearer. Collected across the globe the popularity of Boivin jewels has greatly increased over the last five years.
