Description
A captivating 6.03ct cushion cut Sri Lankan blue sapphire has been securely double claw set into platinum as the centrepiece of this elegant ring from the Art Deco period. Taking centre stage this beautiful gemstone has been perfectly showcased by a slim halo of sparkling round cut diamonds. Four further sapphires, in a contrasting rectangular cut, have been positioned on each corner to display a stylised “x” form. The design is completed by an openwork loop form under bezel, and small diamonds set into the top sections of each shoulder. An immensely wearable jewel this ring displays the iconic combination of curved forms and geometric lines that became so well known during the period. The central sapphire set into this ring is accompanied by certification from Gem Paris (Laboratoire Gemmologique de Paris) confirming its Sri Lankan origin, and that it has not been subjected to any treatment to enhance its colour and clarity. Sri Lanka (Ceylon) is known as "The Gem Island", and is famous for producing a wide variety of exceptional quality stones. Many of the most famous sapphires in the world have come from Sri Lanka, with the characteristic vivid, lighter and brighter blue colour of these stones being highly regarded.
