Description
A mellow orange octagonal cut topaz shimmers with mouth water tones as the centrepiece of this stunning ring. Inspired by our extensive collection of antique jewellery, topaz was a hugely popular gemstone during the Georgian period (1700-1836). The delicate and feminine colour tones of orange topaz perfectly suited rich yellow gold settings, and extravagant parures showcasing this Brazilian wonder were worn by the great and the good. An antique style closed back setting ensures the beautiful colour radiates in the sunshine, and a delicate border of soft sparkling rose cut diamonds perfectly complete the design. Rose cut diamonds featured prominently in 19th-century jewellery with the irregular facets coming alive in softer candle light interiors. These charming stones have been expertly arranged into trefoil clusters at the four compass point stations around the central topaz.
