Description
The house was as its peak when it was owned and run by the founding family, from 1896 to 1999. This tactile bombé ring glows in richly polished warm 18ct yellow gold. A colourful arrangement of emeralds, rubies and sapphires has been expertly rubover set into the top section of this impressive piece. Composed of round, oval, square and heart cuts these richly coloured gemstones come to life when worn on the hand. This signed piece dates to the 1990s, when bold gold jewels adorned with multi coloured gemstones became hugely fashionable among the famous jewellers of the Place Vendome in Paris. One of the most respected names in the jewellery world the House of Van Cleef & Arpels has been at the forefront of jewellery design for well over one hundred years. The reputation of the House was at a particular high point during the 1960s, having created the priceless coronation jewels for the Emperor and Empress of Iran in 1967. With a global network of luxury boutiques augmented by the flagship showrooms in Paris and New York, the House was the only destination for the most famous and wealthy personages in the world. The very best designs are truly timeless, and the bold style of this piece makes it highly collectible and coveted today.
