1980s Van Cleef & Arpels Diamond Transformable Necklace 4.80ct in 18ct Yellow Gold
Brilliant cut, Claw set
Description
A striking 18ct yellow gold and diamond long (77cm) transformable necklace by the House of Van Cleef & Arpels from the 1980s. Elegant and tactile hand shaped elongated oval flat edged links form the main body of this exceptional piece. Smaller links connect the necklace together, and have been expertly set with 4.80ct of sparkling brilliant cut diamonds. Showcasing bold 1980s style this immensely wearable jewel perfectly encapsulates the larger than life fashions, hair styles and conspicuous consumption of the period. Transformable jewels have been hugely important to the House since the 1940s, and still feature in their collections today. Effortlessly adaptable to both mood and styles this long necklace easily separates to become a shorter 38cm necklace, and two 19.5cm bracelets. Family owned from 1906 until 1999 this piece displays the very best quality, and is hugely fashionable today.
