Rolex and Pragnell History
Pragnell is a sixth-generation family jeweller. Our founder, George Pragnell, declared that "our knowledge is your safeguard" and, as
one of the only family-owned, full-service jewellers in the UK, it is a statement that still rings true today.
At Pragnell, we pride ourselves on our unrivalled knowledge, range and service. In addition to a wealth of personal experience, our team
members are also trained to the highest standards by Rolex.
A rich and royal heritage
George Pragnell was fortunate enough to look after Queen Mary when she visited Biggs of Maidenhead and Farnham throughout the 1930s and late 1940s. After he established his own showroom in Stratford-upon-Avon, the company flourished and, through marriage and merger, now encompasses George Tarratt (est.1915), Philip Antrobus (est.1815) and Waters & Blott (est.1850). Today, the company remains under the direction of family members Charlie Pragnell, Tom Crookenden and Hugo Blott. The business has three UK showrooms and extensive archives, including the original sketches of Queen Elizabeth II’s engagement ring and the Antrobus bracelet gifted to her by Prince Philip on their wedding day.
