Description
Dating from the 1990s this signet style ring showcases a captivating octagonal cut Madagascan blue sapphire (2.84ct). This has been securely rubover set, and perfectly complemented by level sculptural shoulders featuring pave set sparkling brilliants that are also set into the under bezel. The French House of Boucheron was founded in 1858, and was the first jeweller to open a boutique in the now famous Place Vendome in Paris (1893). Displaying true 1990s bold glamour and style the shape of the central sapphire and setting style bears distinct similarities to the octagonal shape of the Place Vendome itself when viewed from above. This has provided countless inspiration to both Boucheron, and the other well-known jewellers that now reside there. This beautiful ring is fully signed and numbered with the central sapphire being accompanied by certification from the GCS (Gemmological Certification Services) to confirm that it has not been subjected to any heat treatment to enhance its colour or clarity. The house was owned and run by the founding family from 1858 to 1994.
